Opportunities for Business Institute Students: Applying for Permanent Residency in Canada

Students attending business institutes have the opportunity to apply for permanent residency. Canada offers various immigration pathways for students, allowing them to remain in the country post-graduation. Among these pathways is the well-known Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP), enabling foreign students who have completed their studies successfully in Canada to extend their stay for work purposes. The work permit is issued for a duration equivalent to the length of the student's program, up to a maximum of three years. Once students gain sufficient work experience in Canada, they can pursue PR through the Express Entry immigration program, which operates on a points-based system. Higher scores increase the likelihood of receiving an invitation to apply for immigration.

Alternatively, students from business institutes may opt for a simpler route by applying for PR through the Start-up Visa immigration program, which focuses on fostering entrepreneurship. This program grants foreign entrepreneurs, including those from business institutes, the opportunity to establish their own startups in Canada and obtain residency status at an accelerated pace.
