Effective from 9:00:00 AM Eastern Time on April 30, 2024, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will implement certain adjustments to permanent residence (PR) fees, extending until March 2026. This modification is in accordance with Canada's Immigrant and Refugee Protection Regulations, which are linked to the Consumer Price Index. IRCC offers exemptions to specific applicants, including sponsored children and those considered under humanitarian and compassionate grounds, from the obligation to pay the Right of Permanent Residence (RPR) Fee. Additionally, individuals applying under the permit holder class cannot include accompanying family members in their PR applications; each individual must pursue their application as a principal applicant.
